Savory Cheddar Biscuits

Way better than Red Lobster's cheddar biscuits! I could eat these plain or with a tasty piece of chicken for a sandwich.


2 1/3 cup flour

1 Tbsp sugar

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp garlic salt

4 Tbsp cold butter, shredded

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 400 F. In a large mixing bowl, add all dry ingredients and whisk together. Shredded the cold butter, add to dry mixture and using a pastry cutter cut butter into the dry mix.

  2. Add cheeses, mix. Add milk, mix with spatula until it starts to come together. Switch to using your hand to mix it well (if it seems a bit dry add a Tbsp. of milk until it get desired wetness).

  3. On parchment paper pat the dough down to a round, 1 inch or so thick. Cut out biscuits with a biscuit cutter and add to a papered or silicone mat prepared sheet pan, 1-2 inches apart. Bake for 10-13 min.

  4. Melt some butter and mix 3 shakes of garlic powder into the butter, mix and coat the biscuits with it. May add chopped chives on top!
