Smoked Dry Rub Pork Ribs

Jessica Toevs

Look at the beautiful smoke ring - low and slow, these tasty dry rub ribs are everything awesome about summer and BBQ! Thanks to my buddy Lyle and to David for providing these awesome ribs and manning the smoker!

Ingredients

2 racks of pork ribs

olive oil to coat

favorite dry rub - we use Longhorn Steak Seasoning, and Grillmates Honey Garlic

Directions

  1. remove the membrane from the back of the ribs

  2. Pat ribs dry, then coat with a layer of olive oil. Season well with your favorite dry rub. This creates a tasty and textured bark on the outside of the ribs.

  3. Set smoker to 225 F, and smoke the ribs for 3 hours, or until they pass the break test (lifting the meat with tongs, if the meat starts to break apart, it's ready).

  4. Eat as is, or with your favorite BBQ sauce!

At the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.
